Use Volcano Fire for the First Clear
Volcano Fire
Volcano Fire has a high attack power and a long-range breath attack. In addition, you can use its attack to inflict a burn passive effect to the bosses and inflict damage over time.
Use Meta Knight Sword to Create Best Solo Time
Meta Knight Sword
After completing Meta Knight Cup for the first time, you will receive the blueprint for the Meta Knight sword.
This sword allows you to perform long-range attacks at full health and different types of melee attacks to use. Use this copy ability to set a best solo time.
Use Morpho Knight Sword After Completing Isolated Isles
Morpho Knight Sword
If you have completed the all the stages in Isolated Isles: Forgo Dreams, you can use the Morpho Knight Sword to finish the tournament as fast as possible.
Most of its attacks allow you to defeat the mid-bosses in one hit, and the main bosses in one or two hits.
How to Beat Meta Knight
You can ignore the sword at the start.
Run away from the sword beam attacks.
Avoid Meta Knight's rushing attack.
Hover to avoid the blue sword beam.
Check the shadows on the floor to avoid the boulders.
You Can Ignore the Sword at the Start
Before starting the boss fight with Meta Knight, you can pick up the sword in the middle of the arena to get its copy ability. However, you can choose to ignore it by attacking the sword. This allows you to use your existing copy ability to fight Meta Knight.
Run Away from the Sword Beam Attacks
Meta Knight will use multiple sword beam attacks during the boss fight. You can run from side to side to avoid getting hit or dodge to perform a counterattack.
If you are using the Ice copy ability, you can guard against the attack to avoid taking damage.
Avoid Meta Knight's Rushing Attack
Meta Knight has a rushing attack that leaves you with half of your health if you get hit. The attack has a long charge-up time, making it possible to dodge it quickly.
You can parry this attack if you're using a Sword Ability. Guard at the right moment and enter a button-mashing contest against Meta Knight, stunning him for a short while if you win.
How to Dodge
Hover to Avoid the Blue Sword Beam
Meta Knight will use a blue sword beam attack that covers most of the arena when his health is low. You can avoid this attack by hovering above the ground.
Check the Shadows on the Floor to Avoid the Boulders
When Meta Knight's health is at 40% or less, he will fly up in the air and summon multiple boulders. When the camera switches to a top-down view, run towards the areas with no shadows to avoid getting squished by the boulders.
Meta Knight Cup Tips
Eat a Maxim Tomato After Each Battle
At the end of each fight, you can pick up the Maxim Tomatoes at the sides of the area to restore your health completely.
Note that the tomatoes will be replaced with an orange each time you eat one once you return to the area after a boss fight.
Use Item Buffs Before Entering the Tournament
If you have Waddle Dee's Item Shop at the town, you can buy the item boosters that they sell to gain an advantage at the Meta Knight Cup. In addition, these items can be stacked up to five times to increase their item effect.
If you use any of the item buffs, they will show up in your record at the end of the tournament, although this has no negative impact.
