Hello

I am trying to source a good replacement for the Breckwell C-E-033 squirrel cage room blower. Does anyone know what the difference is in the new improved breckwell C-E-033A?
Specs on motor label
Made by
Fasco Industries, Inc.
Motor Division
Assembled in Mexico

No 702112105
v115 Hz 60 A1.5
Breckwell Part # C-E-033

I called Breckwell tech support and they told me it is 120 CFM. However they could not tell me the RPM ! ! !
The mounting flange is 4-3/8" across the top and 4" down the side. Which is common.
See 1st pic below

First, I found this B24220 with a nice dust screen on the intake.
http://www.cshincorporated.com/product_info.php/products_id/4053
It is rated at 135 CFM so it should push out just as much air or more!
The RPM spec on the site says 2600 RPM but on the motor label it says 3200 RPM ! ! !
See Pic 2 - blower on right side.
I tried two of these blowers but the amount of air it was pushing out did not come close to the original! ! ! What's up with that?
Specs on motor label
Made by
Fasco Industries, Inc.
Motor Division
N. 70214399 Type U21 T.P. AO
115v 50/60 Hz
1.3A 3200 RPM 1/25 HP
Model B24220
LR36496 M2412
The only visual difference btween the above motor and the Breckwell, is the above motor has the motor cooling fan mounted in front of the motor, next to the squirrel cage. the Breckwell motor has the cooling fan mounted behind the motor next to the back cover! ! !

Then I got an Englander convection blower from a 25-PDVC. It is smaller in size than the other two but rated at 140 CFM ! ! ! When I tested it, we could feel much more air coming out? See Pic 2 - blower on left side.

So any ideas, what convection blower to use? The B24220 is all show and no go!

This 150 CFM grainger blower #1TDR6 is split capacitor and will not work!

Hey don,

C-E-033 and C-E-033A share the same housing and impeller. The motor is different on the C-E-033A. Its a open frame(looks like the motor on the auger) and has a cooling fan. The B24220 is the exact same as the factory C-E-033 blower. No difference that I know of. Both units should be at 3000 RPM.

Do not use the 1TDR6 blower. It doesn't have the correct motor and the controller will not vary the speed. It has a SPC(split phase capacitor) motor and the original is shaded pole.

Are you sure the controller is suppling full power to the blower with the fan is set t high? I have seen the triacs fail in the blower circuit and it doesn't supply full line voltage to the blower.

Fasco website has the specs on their B24220 at 2600 RPM@FreeAir and not 3200 RPM or 3000 RPM. Not too sure why there would be a difference on the motor lable.

Wow Jay, Thanks so much for the Input!

I did not know the triacs could act up like that but this may be the case! Guess what NO surge protector on the STOVE !! This makes sense! I told my friend about surge protection! ! !

It makes me mad to see these differences! I need to go by these specs to fix a stove! If they are wrong that messes it all up. Maybe I need a good CFM meter cheap. Can anyone recommend one?

I went over the specs again.
The Fasco B24220 is 1.3 Amps and the OEM Breckwell C-E-33a made by Fasco is 1.5 amps so the OEM will feel stronger.
