Brief Summary of Work for this Position
- Provide support for university-owned technology hardware andsoftware
- Resolves routine and advanced client hardware problems,including but not limited to: Macs and PCs, scaler/switchers, LCDprojectors, hand-held devices, and network connections
- Correct software issues for clients in classroomenvironments
- Perform routine and advanced diagnostics and maintenance ofclassroom technologies
- Setup/Install new hardware and software in classrooms
- Configure and/or code AV control systems
- Design simple AV systems and solutions
- Install/upgrade AV equipment in classrooms and conferencerooms
- Set up and configure peripheral devices
- Investigate, assess, and implement new technologies andsolutions
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Graduation from a two-year technical college with a major in anInformation Technology field and one year in the informationtechnology field related to the position’s role; or graduation froma four-year college or university and one year experience in theinformation technology field related to the position’s role; orgraduation from a four-year college or university with a major inan Information Technology area. Related information technologyexperience may be substituted year for year for the requirededucation.
Preferred education, professional skills and experience
- Three (3) years or more of experience in the AV profession orrelated field
- One (1) year or more of experience in higher education
- Experience troubleshooting both PC and Apple hardware and/orsoftware
- Experience utilizing collaboration software and services suchas Zoom, Teams, WebEx, Google Hangouts, etc.
- Hold AVIXA CTS, CTS -I, and/or CTS -D certification(s)
- Experience with Extron, such as holding certifications and/orworking with their switcher/scalers, control systems, etc.
- Experience as Extron or Crestron certified programmer
- Experience with Biamp DSP configuration and/or hold Biampcertifications.
- Hold Dante Level 1, 2, and/or three certification(s)
- Understanding of network basics and principles
- Experience in managing devices and/or systems on anenterprise-level network
- Experience with AVoIP
- Demonstrated communication skills, both verbal and written
- Demonstrated delivery of customer-focused service
