What holidays are paid at University of Nebraska? ›

The University provides 13 holidays (8 observed and 5 floating holidays) a year to all regular employees. Holidays must be used within 12 months of being granted. New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and the day after, and Christmas Day.

Red Letter Days are an opportunity for high school juniors and seniors to get a firsthand experience of what life is like as a student at University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

The usual work schedule is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Normal work hours at the university are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m, which begins at 11:01 p.m. Thursday and continues through 11:00 p.m. the following Thursday. An employee will be informed of work schedules by the immediate supervisor.
