Amy grew up in Arvada, Colorado, where she was raised by her parents – she claims to have had her first close contact with what she refers to as ‘shadow people’ when she was four years old. She has been interested in the paranormal since then, and eventually became an investigator and a medium.

After she matriculated from a high school in Arvada, she enrolled at the University of Arizona, from which she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. While there she was mentored by Dr. William Roll, who is known worldwide as one of the best parapsychologists.
Career as a TV personality
Amy became popular after she was chosen to star in “The Dead Files” paranormal TV series, which began airing on 23 September 2011 on the Travel Channel.
The show follows our Amy, a physical medium, and Steve DiSchiavi, a former New York Police Department homicide detective, as they travel around the US to investigate supposedly haunted locations. So far the show counts 11 seasons and 193 episodes, and has received mixed critiques, with some people believing it to be scripted and fake.
Regardless, Amy has become a well-respected parapsychologist, and her skills and abilities have been studied by numerous other parapsychologists.
So far she has worked with several TV channels, such as The Travel Channel, CBS, TLC, and Discovery among others, most often serving as a consultant and an on-air talent. Aside from being a physical medium, Amy studied, and is currently practicing alternative medicine, making her a healer (psychometrist) – some of her other studies include acupuncture, Asian medicine, western massage, Thai yoga massage, and Zen shiatsu.

Amy met Matthew Anderson while the two were attending the same college, and they launched their relationship after several months of being friends.

Amy is a very religious person, who believes in supernatural and paranormal – her mother and her grandfather allegedly possess the same skills and abilities as her, andappear to be able to see ghosts as well as to talk with them.
Amy’s favorite hobby is travelling, and her show has taken her all around the US, while she has also been to several countries in Europe throughout the years, with her dream travel destination being Rome in Italy.
